Did Rocky train by himself for the Drago match? Also Drago had to kill Apollo to make a statement. He was a machine hell bent to prove Russian superiority.

Not really...but kinda.

Rocky wasn't really fighting the Russian in Rocky IV. In fact, Rocky was never really about the opponent in the ring. The series was about the different opponents in his own mind as he matured in life.

That was between Apollo and Rocky. Not Clubber and Rocky.

Anyone want to take a stab at why Pauly seems to always be a deadbeat? Even when Rocky seemingly took care of him, he looked like a deadbeat. Always resenting Adrian and Rocky.

Pauly is an old school hater. Was obvious he was jealous. Probably resented his sister cause she was the baby girl that took away his attention.

Poor upbringing made him bitter. Yet Adrian always seemed intrinsically happy and stable, taking care of him while inadvertently enabling him becoming somewhat of a mother figure.

He didn't really want her to find a man. He was using her "singleness" to emotionally abuse her trying to make her as miserable as he was. It backfired with Rocky and she seemingly became even happier.

Rocky then goes on to superstardom and he and Adrian become America's golden couple.

This reinforces the fact Polly never addressed his internal issues stemming from his rough upbringing. He becomes miserable and jealous of both of them while they try and balance helping him and enabling him.

It's a very complex relationship with many ups and downs, probably one of the longest running most dynamic relationships in movie cinematic history.

Also Bridgitte Neilsen is so very terrible in that movie.

FIFY

Also, as stated earlier, the ref tried to stop the fight with Apollo and Drago, but Drago pushed the ref out of the way. I'm pretty certain that a death in the ring following a blatant disregard of the official would result in some type of jail time.

Most underrated quote of the Rocky series: "Well what are we waitin fer?"
