So why don't you consider flavored as true martinis, since I can find just as much documentation saying they are martinis?

As I mentioned, enjoy what you want. I'm really not trying to be a dick about it. I just find the discussion interesting from an academic perspective.

Fair enough. Now I do.

Nothing really academic about a martini but I'd have to say my liver is a PHD candidate.

Not taken as a dick. Taken as a thread extender per my original post. I don't drink old fashions so this was the only way I could participate.
