Good luck with that. Once you realize your truck is much more powerful, you will end up hitting the go pedal more just to feel it.

ETA: Make and model of truck?

Programmers are a waste of money on gas trucks. I would find somewhere to get a custom tune.

On gas engines you'll be lucky to see a legit 1 mpg increase. After factoring in the cost of the tuner, it's going to take you a really long time to see any benefit from it.

Now if you're actually looking for something besides fuel mileage, a tuner may be worth it.

its plenty powerful ... just a slight increase in MPG.. I put about 10k/year on her so she is doing fine for now.

It's not worth the money. Let's say you get a 2 mpg increase out of this, which is incredibly optimistic and not likely. Assuming gas price of $3.15 and a current mpg of 14, you wouldn't even save $300 a year. And that's a best case scenario.

You're best bet for increasing mileage is to adjust your driving habits, or buy a different vehicle.

Agree.

Had a tune on a car and all I found myself doing was mashing on the gas even more. Adjusting driving habits is the best thing to do imo.

I work out of my home office, so mileage is minimal. When I do make driving trips I'd like to see better #s. The $ isn't an issue with the gas, I knew what I was getting when I got it..

Not being a jerk, but there's not much you can do with that engine to help MPG.

About 15 on the hwy is all it can do, assuming its a 4x4.

I really feel like you're not hearing what we're saying, so I'll say it one more time.

After you spend the money on this tune, you will more than likely not see any improvement in MPG. Are you reading a magazine ad promising big mpg gains or something? Do some research on the F150 forums.

I hear it loud and clear. I am saying that was my original goal, but now, its no big deal with the feedback you have provided.

i bought one for my GMC 1500 HD gas burner a few years ago. All it did was fix my spedometer beacuse it was off due to bigger tires.

save your money and trade for a 2015 that gets 30 mpg. I know from experience that getting a performance system won't you get gas mileage. Like somebody else said you just drive faster.
