I don't believe anyone disputes the fact that combat takes a heavy toll on veterans and that substance abuse is common. What we are discussing here is that it is not SOP to encourage the use of illegal substances by special operations groups when they are in country.

That's not what I took from the OP but whatever.

Of course it's not SOP to encourage SF to use illicit substances. That's fricking ridiculous. That doesn't mean that those guys don't do it though. I have spent time on the Afghan/Pak. border and you can get bricks of hash out there easier than you could get fresh fruit.
