FWIW, there is a big difference between wild and hand raised quail. The wild ones fly like 20mph faster

That being said, quail hunting is my favorite bird hunting. I'm jelly

Unfortunately, I've only shot over wild WILD homegrown birds twice. Once in South Texas, once in VA. But, I have to say that I couldn't tell the difference save for the distance at which they flush.

Definitely. We bring down some pen raised quail a few times a year to shoot when the wild quail aren't around, they do not like to fly at all. They all eat the same though.
