Not a tater pro, but here's what i did. Buy seed potatoes, quarter, stick in the dirt. I think you can do less than a quarter and cut off a hunk with at least 2 eyes and plant if you're frugal. I filled a plastic swimming pool with dirt (good Richland parish dirt). Pool had holes in it so it would drain. Planted Reds and Yukon golds. It was around the first of March when I planted they did great. Watered frequently. Once they start vining good I went out there and low and behold had new potatoes in the ground. I started digging em. Couldn't believe my kids swimming pool was giving me taters. Ate the shite out of new potatoes. Did a crawfish boil featuring my home growed new potaters and knocked some socks off. Then my taters quit producing. WTF I thought. Old school at the feed store said I screwed up my tubers. Don't screw up your tubers. Good luck

Well that's good and bad news. You had some spuds. You fricked up some spuds.
