Would you go buy heroin, crack, meth, coke, weed, or anything else for that matter, tomorrow if it were legal? Probably not.

Legal and wouldn't get fired?
Weed and coke

I can see why to legalize it, but can see why a company will still outlaw it. If I can't prove you aren't currently under the influence then I don't want you taking it on my site. Assuming I am liable for your actions.

Agreed here, and I think you should be held accountable for your actions. In the same since, I don't think you should be punished for smoking the night before and showing up sober the next day for work, just because weed stays in your system longer.

That the one in Killona?

yep Waterford and some of their data centers require a government background check also...
the data centers is as bad as Waterford , in some of those places you have to have an employee or security stay with you the entire time ...

Exactly.

If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way to get it. There is no way to stop them. That's why I think we should legalize drugs. I don't care what you do to your body, you can do whatever you want. And I don't think it's right for anyone to tell you what to do with your body.

Also, I don't want to pay for your stupid shite. I.e., if you get too fat, I don't want to pay for your health care. Same applies for every other type of health care system. I know there are some instances where there is a give and take relationship, but I'm not paying for you to get treatment when you don't take care of your body

Have you bought anything online within the last year?

Ohhh, the great keep the government out of my business retort.

Especially ironic in a thread started about a private company overstepping its bounds into out personal lives.

While I agree with your sentiments, I still think it's funny people call weed, dope.

You know I've got you on that one.

I just don't recognize the validity of "rules" simply because "they are the rules".

Tenacity isn't an excuse for stagnation. Constant reevaluation is necessary in a changing system.

I had clearance to enter all areas unattended, including the control room; once I got through the gate I was good to do as I pleased.

Getting clearance was a bitch though. I had to take a drug test (just piss), pass a FBI background check (they even questioned my neighbors), do a breathalyzer, and take a one of those psychological tests where they pretty much ask you the same questions over and over, just with different wording. Damn thing took 2-3 hours of filling in bubbles SAT-style.

Then every time I went to the plant it was an hour or so ordeal just getting through the gate. They're pretty thorough when they search big trucks, as they should be.

Those assholes on the Westbank that have been killing whooping cranes for sport deserve to be shot on site IMO.

Would imagine it is a piss test with hair test only coming if they feel they need further proof.

In my experience, no. I've cleared their highest levels of security, as an outside contractor.

I can't comment on anything more than personal experience though.

I will say that I had to review and sign a package in reference to migratory birds and our responsibilities while on site.

Didn't know killdeer's were somewhat protected. Would have been useful info when I was 10
