Damn, I hunt on private land adjacent to the Refuge. Didn't know they don't open until November. I guess that kills my ideas of where to bow hunt already.
eta: Big Lake WMA is right next to the Refuge, but I am not as familiar with it. They killin some fine bucks there. I also have a friend that sells hunts on his place bordering both Big Lake WMA AND Tensas Refuge. I can check his rates and maybe if a big enough group wants to make it we can get a special rate for Saturday. I don't mind asking. Free range no fence. I will get pics from him on some they have killed there.
