I may be biased, having been born and raised in the south where there is no opportunity to watch any of these sports live or participate yourself.

What?

TONS of people in the South ski/snowboard. Hell, you can even ski and snowboard IN the South.

No doubt. Would it kill them to put at least one jump in there?...well it probably would. But I'd watch.

Its like watching Nascar qualifying and I love Nascar. After a dozen or so runs, its all the same as they are not racing.

These are excuses you could use for all kinds of stuff.

We watch it once every 4 years, it's not like it is on TV every weekend for 5 months a year. I enjoy the Olympics, from curling to figure skating, from javelin to diving.

Bobsled is the worst-designed sport of all time quote: X Games - judging on who is more rad and killer doesn't belong in the Olympics. I don't follow. Most of the winter games are/were extreme sports. Ski jumping and alpine skiing were pretty extreme sports back in the day. Luge and skeleton, and ski aerials... all extreme. It's just progression. And to dog those athletes.... come on. That shite is difficult, no matter how "boring" it looks.

Watching the best athletes in the world do something can make it look boring, I guess.

We've seen Manning and Brady make 1000 amazing plays, does it get boring, I don't think so. The fact that people don't know these sports that well makes it look "boring" but there is nothing boring about watching the best athletes in the world at any given sport.
