We are leaving for Disney next Wednesday after work and plan to stop half way. What website usually has the cheapest rates for last minute reservations? Thanks

This. We stayed at a Hampton Inn there last year on the way to Disney. Worked out well.

I've gotten good deals on Hotwire last minute.

For this challenge I made a ribeye bulgogi taco with a quick cabbage and cucumber kimchi.

First, the kimchi starts by slicing some fresh cabbage from the farmers market along with a cucumber. Made the kimchi with some fish sauce, garlic, sugar, S&P, chile flakes, and some sliced carrot. Set that aside to marry.

Then it's time to slice the ribeye as thing as I can get it. 30 minutes in the freezer helps set it without freezing it solid. Then it gets put in a marinade of soy, sesame oil, pepper, honey, and rice vinegar. I let that marinade for about an hour.

Next I took some of the trimmed ribeye fat and rendered just enough to coat the bottom of my pan. Seared the ribeye strips on both sides. It took two batches.

After setting aside the ribeye, I threw some of the fruit cocktail into the pan with the marinade drippings.

Building my tacos with corn tortillas, I added the bulgogi, kimchi, and sweet-Asian-fruit-goodness.

Lastly add the crushed wasabi peas and some cilantro.

If you do a decent amout of traveling, I would just use whatever loyalty program I'm focusing on at the time. Also a lot of loyalty programs have a Best Rate Guarantee. With IHG's BRG program, you get the first night free if you find a better advertised rate for the same room and package even it's just a one night stay.

If I go outside of a loyalty program, I prefer to use hotels.com because with them you still get "points" towards free nights. Ten paid nights and you get your average spend toward a free night. Years ago, Hotels use to be even better. You would get a night for up to $300 or $400 no matter how much you spent on those ten nights. If you don't mind not knowing your hotel ahead of time, you can usually get the best rates by using priceline or hotwire and doing some research on a site like betterbidding.com.

No matter what, I would at least check Ebates to see if I can book through there. You still get the benefits of whatever site you use because Ebates is just a protal, however you get cashback from your purchase. Here's a referal link if you aren't a member already It's not just for hotels either.

Try the Express Deals on Priceline. I have always had great luck - have stayed at Royal Sonesta Galleria in Houston for under $80 and caught the Hyatt Downtown for under $70.

You aren't a part of a hotel loyalty program? If not, hotwire or Priceline can work if you know your city.
