video of the Hoist from this morning LINK LINK
South Toledo Bend/ Between South Toledo Bend State Park and Cypress Bend = Yocum Bay
From Sunday afternoon to Tuesday midday;
73 keepers/bass caught on one crank bait (Rapala Shad Rap 5/Shad Color)
9 keepers/bass caught on wacky worm / watermelon seed color.... with nail in head of worm instead of traditional sinker.
23 Crappie (Sac Au Lait) 14 caught on Yo Yos/Shiner
The rest caught on crank bait above.
Lake level 169 Average water temp is 58 degrees and warming. Most bass have been male but females are moving in the coves and bays. We are catching bigger fish as the week has warmed. Sac au lait are very active at sunset and super active on yo-yos baited with shiners. Good luck guys. Heading home tomorrow. Will add more pics tomorrow. If you guys are heading this way.... It's been fun.
Wednesday - Friday morning 42 Sac au lait
8 large bass. 20 Sac Au Lait hovering around 2 lbs.

Going back... Will report back.

Just got off the phone with my dad. He's an accomplished Toledo Bend fisherman. Today was their second day. They scratched yesterday...threw everything, fished everywhere. The barometric pressure was high as a giraffes arse though. They caught their first fish today at 2:00. Wound up with 6 keepers. Top 5 was over 17 lbs. everything on a raybourne red rattletrap (fished fast). All in hurricane creek. Water temp went to 52 today.

Water should be warming up and the fish should be active. Wish I could go this weekend/week!
I haven't been in three weeks but we were catchin the shite out of them all through January on KVD 1.5 natural red craw. Make sure there's plenty of grass, and the fish should be in 3-8 foot of water.

My dad fished a tourney last weekend and it was won on traps.
My boss has a buddy that caught a 12.86 on a trap out of Housen last week, too. We've just been catchin most of ours on that red crankbait.

The Wally World in many has been getting .22 ammo each day on their trucks. Stop by with a TD shirt or hat.

Thanks guys... Should warm up a bit. My Uncle has a camp on the south Louisiana side. He's been there twenty years, so he knows the lake well. Spoke to a few that said red eye shadow are what's bringing them in. I will give you guys a report while I'm there. Just Damn glad it's finally warming up. Hope the wind is calm.

Update No. 1... Bass fishing decent. We fished from 4pm until dark around Yokum Bay (Louisiana side) Caught 6 keepers. 10 overall. All caught on shad colored crank bait or lipless red eye shads. Fishing around 4-6 foot of water. Setup about 8 yo yos on the dock and so far caught two sac a lait around 1.5 lbs each. Caught these on live minnows. Going check them again around 11pm. Will post pics when we fill the bass holder. Water temp was around 53 degrees. Tomorrow should be warmer.

everything on a raybourne red rattletrap
