How did you drill through the side of your WSM, step bit?

step bit and painters tape for the win!

If you don't own one and don't have a lot of uses for it, Harbor Freight Tools sells them very cheap.

I didn't do the mod with the grommet, but instead saw on the Virtual Bullet, someone used a cutting wheel and made a small notch where the lid comes down, it works really well.
