Thinking about transferring to UNO for film. Im a sophomore in business. Aint doing good in it, and Im not really happy at LSU. So those of you that go to UNO, how would it compare to LSU? How was the social scene? Classes and Class size? Any OT 10s

Are you from NOLA? I can't imagine how you could not be happy at LSU if you're worried about what the social scene is like.

You can't imagine why LSU's large atmosphere might be overwhelming to some people?

Both my parents went to UNO, I grew up around UNO, and had many friends that went to UNO. It's a great place to get an education, but a terribly boring school to go to. It's a commuter school.

Have you considered a trade school?

Not for someone interested in the social scene, no. If the OP was interested in avoiding it, he should have worded it that way.

I would imagine going there for undergrad would suck. I got my MBA there. I did the executive course; which was every other weekend (Sat & Sun). I feel like a got a good bang for my buck.

LSU is too big for me. But I also wanted to major in film too. I was engineering at LSU before business.

I'll assume you had pretty underwhelming grades in these courses. Have you taken any art type classes? How'd you do in them? What do you plan on doing with a film degree?

End goal is being a director/writer. Ive made short films in film club. I guess I want to start as a production assistant.

Film is a worthless degree. And you are worthless .

Does a degree help with that more than going straight into the workforce in some way?

I think going to a film school helps with connections. Ive taken some film/acting/philosophy classes at LSU.

Gotcha. Well good luck to you. UNO seems alright from the people I know that went there. Definitely won't have to worry about it being too big for you.

There are many UNO students that have transferred from LSU/ULL/SLU, and the vast majority claim UNO to be the much more difficult school. But without the social scene, you'll have way more time to focus on your classes. It's a hard school, very underrated.
Class size can vary greatly. There are a few auditorium style lectures, but mostly you will have 20-30 student class sizes. By your senior year your class sizes could be closer to 15 within your major.
Professors are outstanding. I have nothing to compare them to, but I have had way more fantastic profs than terrible ones.
It's a commuter school, there isn't much of a social scene. However, if you are the kind of person to get involved, there is definitely an opportunity for a social life.
There are some attractive ladies, but it isn't LSU.

Very well said for an LSU grad.
