You guys are being a little harsh here. He's still working, got his degree, putting in his time. Doesn't seem like he's asking for a handout, just a chance.

Seems like he's been humbled and learned from his mistakes.

I wish him luck.

Which is great for him and his family. But dont tell me I am being harsh when he keeps blaming his troubled past on other people and claiming he just kept on being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Its like someone whose been divorced 5 times, at some point you have to ask "Is it me?"

I'm sorry, but I took this article as showing RP as the opposite of him being humbled and instead blaming his circumstances for his own lack of self-control.

If the RP story included a plot line that consisted of him getting screwed out of a starting job because of favoritism, then the whole "He should have gone to Texas" line would carry some weight. What did Jimbo say about Jameis W. on Mike and Mike, "he won the leadership role as a scout team QB". RP was pissed because he was on the scout team and got redshirted. Jimbo was there and recruited RP; he wanted RP to be the guy. I bet if you had Jimbo's view in this article you'd get a good viewpoint between a QB that "gets it" and one that doesn't.

You can't learn from your mistakes by convincing yourself they weren't your mistakes and you were a victim.
