I fail to see how Monty has done him any favors on offense though. Most of his improvements from last year come from working hours in the gym on crap he didn't have before: left hand, added weight, 3 pt shot, FTs.

Well if you're in the NBA, aren't YOU responsible for your own improvement? Pardon my ignorance, but I just can't envision Monty Williams using his time to teach Austin Rivers how to shot fake and shoot free throws, etc when he could be doing more important things for his team. Or does the staff actually "teach" fundamentals of the system? These players are expected to be able to do these things at a high level already right? *Unless you're just freakishly athletic or huge.
I'm just not familiar with how NBA practices are operated.
