I'm not sure what that would have to do the Flynn Effect. As a matter of fact, stupid people today have higher IQ than stupid people of the past. Median IQ has increased by three points per decade, almost like clockwork, since we started measuring it.
The Flynn Effect goes back to pre WWII. Before the 1970s most smart women stayed at home and had children. They passed their IQs along genetically. Today, most smart women put marriage off and work at a career. They have few or no children. My wife is an example. She has an IQ of 130 and she has never had a child by choice.
People with IQs in the 90-100 range have lots of kids. So, logic tells us that we are getting dumber by birth tendencies that have changed in the last 40 years.

Hasn't this always been the case throughout history though?
In global history the answer is 'no.' People with high IQs tended to have more children because they had the smarts to support them.
In recent American history you certainly have a small brainy elite driving increase in quality of life. But, if those elites had higher birth rates vis-a-vis the morons, think of how much more advanced we would be.

And the Far Right claims Liberals hate America.
Why would you feel the need to "fundamentally transform" something you supposedly love?

they are just trying to finish the job
are we not transformed. the nation was founded under the belief that government can not provide freedoms, it has only the power to take, restrict, imprison.
People cannot help themselves, add this, ignore that, even when shite was going swimmingly, this nation has never existed the way it was intended. commerce, money, jobs, markets...capitalism provides freedom. When everyone can pursue their own self interests, society benefits. What about the EPA, the Fed, this, this, this...none of this was ever needed. Markets reflect the desires of the people. Markets solve 99% of the problem. The problem with the United States is that it becomes less and less exceptional. People today do not believe that markets solve 99% of all problems, they think government does. the vote you cast with your dollar is the most important right you have.
so they cannot fundamentally transform shite, it has already been done. FDR was the first huge step but the foundation had existed much earlier.
The American Revolution was a product of tanking the colonial economy and restricting it. You can say taxes, intolerable acts, whatever but it boils down to the same thing.
Now today we are not only willing to be robbed at gun point, we openly desire it. The United States is the best in terms of standard of living, etc. but that is due to the few fragmented ideals we still cling to that are washing away.
self empowerment. Nobody believes in it anymore. No one wants stress, worry, risk, or opportunity. they just want the bare minimum to survive, without working and they want the government to provide for them.
fricking sucks.
anyone and everyone who supports government healthcare, supplemental relief (welfare), government regulation is a fricking idiot.
protect property - that is the only function of a government of free people. It doesn't matter if it is central or state, so long as it is the minimum. only a stupid, lazy pos would think otherwise.
