Why do people say "New Orleans East can't support that?" It's not incumbent on part of the city to support it. It's a regional thing. And NO East gets a bad rap because of the blighted property on the interstate. Anyone who actually gets off the interstate (yeah what courage!) and drove down Lake Forest Blvd., Kensington Blvd, Winchester Park, Bullard, etc. would see a pretty different East.

This. While some of the most blighted areas in the city are in the East, it's got a lot of nice areas too. I think people would be surprised at some of them.

A lot of well to do upper middle class black and Asian families out there.

Cause that's what ends up happening because most white people think they're gonna get murdered as soon as they come over the highrise. Just look at how many people in this thread have said it was in a bad neighborhood even though the closest neighborhood to it was a country club.
