I'm guessing everything was about $16,000. This was 15 years ago and I think the prices have more than doubled since then.
Wife's grandmother had savings bond she cashed in for us.

The whole wedding market is a big racket these days. Decent reception halls over over $60 a person. Rings, dress, cakes, flowers, limos, police escort, photographer, flowers, etc, etc.
Unless you are doing a po-dunk community hall with your family cooking, it will cost a small fortune.

Cakes are ridiculous, just because it's labeled as a "wedding cake" it's 1.5k. It's absurd.

Less than $1000.

Married at a friend's home by judge. Had a party about 1 month later with live band (part of the New Leviathon Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra) in the new home we purchased. Spent the $ on downpaymet for home. Wedding and reception a waste of $, IMO. Still married, 33 years now.
