Right, almost all of my PS3 games were digital, the PS3 started Day 1 Digital back in 2012, I had NCAA 12 and NHL 12 digital and all but 1 of my PS4 games are digital.

But that doesn't include the over 50 games I rented from GameFly, beat, and then sent back as well as a couple from Redbox.

There's just too many games with ~12 hour single player and no online that I'm just not going to pay $60 for and then never touch again like say Dishonored.

Until Gamefly releases a console app or someone else offers a digital rental service where you can just download the game like normal and play it for however long as long as you have a subscription then discs are a must or games like that need to be $40 max.

Xbox Live's Major Nelson hints at 'competitive pricing' for digital downloads

Xbox still hasn't given up on it's vision of the Steam model and if what Major Nelson is saying on top of the all digital Xbone then it looks like they have figured out a way to slow roll it and get people on board.

Maybe this is what they should have planned from the start instead of trying to force it on people but either way I would bet anything this is them trying to get to that point.

I don't think a game should be $40 just because it's a 12 hour game
