OK a few things to remember:
Tyrus was a role player at McKinley. He was a 6'5 center who ran around and blocked shots and dunked. He blew up in AAU and got a late run of offers, but he was a project. I remember some complaining about him getting a scholarship offer.
He came to LSU, grew three inches and his athleticism got even better as he grew. He never really developed the ball skills he needed to be a three and he didnt shoot well enough to be consistent stretch four in the League so caught between positions and lacking specific skills, he washed out. The confrontation with Paul Silas didnt help matters.
Mickey is a comparable athlete who does more than compete with energy and athleticism. he seems like a much more evolved version of Tyrus Thomas and I think he could have a nice career in the League. especially if he learns to consistently shoot the corner three ball.
