Hyatt is ok.
There are several to consider closer to Bourbon. One is Maison Dupray.
Also, the big generics, Marriott, Sheraton, and Hilton are all closer.
Nothing wrong with looking at places in the warehouse district. I suggest the Embassy Suites on Julia St.

We had the executive suite top floor at the Hyatt Regency on our honeymoon in December. Amazing view and good proximity to everything. Great restaurants.

I don't like Maison Dupuy's location in the quarter. I haven't stayed there since 2008 but almost every room needed updating. My friend's entire wedding party stayed there and at least two rooms I went in had some bad funk smells. My room didn't have a funk but there were signs of poor housekeeping that made me uneasy.
