I was looking through NBA salaries, did the math and realized how highly paid the Pelicans back court is..
Gordon- 14.3M
Holiday- 11M
Evans- 11.8M
Morrow- 1M
Rivers- 2.3M
Roberts- .8M
Total= 41.2M
The Lakers and Brooklyn are around 50M each. Kobe and Nash make close to 40M as a combination. So do D. Williams and J. Johnson (although Johnson plays some SF). The Pelicans are next in line and, barring trades, will have the same back court next year (except Morrow). So what is the ceiling for this group?
If you rank the top back courts in the league, I'm not sure this group cracks the top 10 or even 15. It's also not very flexible, since none of the players can play SF (maybe Evans in a pinch). It's not a stretch to call it a disappointment thus far..

Welcome to my world. But no, I knew it was up there, but I didn't realize just how high it was. I actually thought it might be the highest paid one for awhile (I didn't know how to classify Johnson for Brooklyn at first). So it's not the worst news..

Monty likes to play many three guard sets.

Hooray! Can we get a 3rd place trophy for this?
