I remember Clint Eastwood was being interviewed on Fox News once, I think he was heading up a charity event. In the middle of the interview the news broke that Anna Nicole Smith was dead. Instead of talking to Eastwood about his charity, he had to answer questions about Anna Nicole Smith. Eastwood did his best to make it through the interview trying to answer questions about this train wreck of a person he didn't know much about it. It was pretty bad.

To be fair, most MSNBC employees suffer from some form of psychosis.

We have a 8 year old rushing into fires saving lives and all we worry about is some worthless Canadian.

Not so sure about that. Maybe in this specific case with Bieber, but generally speaking, the media controls what we talk about.
Remember when we considering bombing Syria in August? It was all over the news for about a week, then we never heard about it again. Nothing has changed in Syria. People are still getting slaughtered, but there is no coverage, and no one is talking about it anymore.

We didn't hear about it because we decided not to bomb them. We went with the Russian-led diplomacy track. With that said the agreement I believe was just supposed to take Assad's gas weapons away so even if everything goes as plan people will continue to get slaughtered.

My understanding is the Syrian rebels are a bunch of Muslim nuts. In which case its not really in our interest for them to win.

I wasn't making a political statement with this post. It's just a fact that MSNBC did this
