Right, so we can all be in the same shitty and inefficient system.

My parents and inlaws love medicare. They say its easy, and so much cheaper than the health insurance they had before.
quote:
The only way you can "opt out" of the ACA is if your employer is providing coverage that meets the ACA's standards or is better or you pay a fine*.
*The fine (currently) is 1% of your income or $95/year, whichever is greater. What this means is that unless you make $9,500 per year or less, you will be paying more than $95/year. When the IRS starts collecting this (Spring 2015), if someone's income was higher than projected, that person will have to pay the excess subsidies they received. And which economic levels will get the most subsidies? The poor.
What this means in a broader scope is that, just like other government programs people will be penalized for trying to make more money.
There's no upside here.
I was talking about who gets target's healthcare. Its not the younger workers who are buying it, its the people who need it. I do agree there is no upside here, but this probably doesn't impact the young workers at target, it probably affects the older ones. I dont know about your target, but mine has a lot of 50+ employees. These are the ones that are losing coverage.
