About to head to the stand with my 10 yr old and realize its only primitive season. Checked the regulations and as I read it, a kid under 17 can hunt primitive season with ANY firearm. We have my .280 and his pump 20ga in the truck.
Am I reading that right?

I'm Purdy sure you can't have a 280 with you during primitive season. Ain't sure what the youngen can tote though

I wouldn't worry with the regulations book today. The state and federal workers will be off for MLK day and the odds of you getting checked today are better none to slim. Let the boy shoot what he wants to shoot and enjoy your 49th day in a row off of work in the woods while I'm headed to the office.
