wow

all i can say is wow

what do you do when you run out of ideas and have turned all of your characters into charicatures of insanity? add in a random family member who is randomly crazy as frick!!!!

and as far as marnie's drama, i can just see it in the writer's room..."so what do the kids these days get embarrassed over? VIRAL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE!" this show is copying storylines from CBS comedies now

Ray being "old grouchy guy" was just shite...pure shite.

the only real, built up conflict involves the break up of a secondary character and a tertiary character

the rest is just random shite thrown at the screen...literally

The writers have contempt for every character on the show.

No matter how minor the part, I don't think they've introduced a character that they haven't taken a shite on in some way.

How about the random introduction of Hannah's editor as some blue-haired party boy?

felt kind of like this:

did they really just create a stereotypical gay party boi?

we talk about how seinfeld, or IASIP involve characters you hate, but goddamn, girls saw that and said "challenge accepted"

are they just trying to rehash CBS sitcom jokes/gags with characters we hate, hoping that we don't realize the copying?

is this one big troll attempt where they really are shitting on their generation and just acting like it's a true statement of that generation? they are acting face right now, defending the show publicly, but will the writers turn heel next year and reveal it was all one big joke? the ultimate irony: making hipster-types like/support a show that is mocking them (when they don't realize it)

They build up these potential plot lines then dismiss them with no explanation. Example from last night: Ray, Shoshanna and the guy at the bar who got him a beer.

this is the worst show. Dunham is awful. every character is awful. i cannot stress this enough. these characters are assholes. i'd rather watch tru tv reality bullshite than girls.

ignoring the fact that the characters are all terrible (both as literary characters and the personalities of the characters themselves), the overall story of the show itself is off the rails. there is no overall arc, and each individual episode is vapid and boring, with no real connection to anything before or after. it's also not funny, endearing, or engaging at all.

whatever SFP

you obviously do not live an urban, hipster life, therefore you just can't relate to the lives of these vibrant, real characters
