I don't think 2007 was much better (with regards to available WRs).
We had just lost our two 2006 starters (Bowe and Davis, who were both 1st Round NFL draft picks). I do acknowledge that Doucet was more proven as the lone returnee than Dural is for 2014.
But other than Doucet?
- Demetrius Byrd (unknown commodity from JUCO)
- Lafell (caught only 5 balls in 2006)
- Chris Mitchell (2 catches)
- Jared Mitchell (1 catch)
- Terrence Toliver (unproven true freshman)
Yes, it looks better on paper than 2014 - but the differences are not that great. The main advantage for 2007 is that they had an experienced senior QB to get them the ball.
