This thread gets repeated often. Once, on the Poli Board, some poster used the gratuitous "I'm not anti gun, I own an AR" then went on to say that AR was short for assault rifle.

I've had weapons since I was a kid and I always have called my AR-15s, Mini 14s etc assault rifles. I don't understand why people like yourself get butthurt over that or people saying clips instead of magazines. Everyone knows what people mean when they say assault rifles or clips so get over yourself already.
