The scandal is how woefully unprepared the State Dept and CIA were to deal with this type of situation...that our people were left exposed to this type of attack due to incompetence. Why they attacked is of little importance in my view...it's a waste of time and distracts from the real issue - incompetence.

Incompetence isn't a scandal.

Claiming it was caused by a video and lying to the American public is though.

Facilities as such aren't a fortress and will always be vulnerable to a certain level of attack. Even if the post had all the personnel and security measures that were requested, it still would not have withstood the number of attackers.

How about we blame the people who are really at fault (hint - it's the attackers)
