He had trouble separating against Auburn in the championship.
In the first half, Auburn's blitzes all seemed to work & Winston was getting pressured immediately so the deep vertical routes FSU were trying to run were ineffective. Once FSU starting running the ball & running more routes underneath Benjamin showed up. I think Benjamin is a step faster then Jeffery but still in all an Alshon Jeffery type would be an upgrade over what we have in the receiving corps right now.

1st round targets should be:
CB Gilbert OkSt
CB Verret TCU
RT Lewan Mich
RT Martin Notre Dame

Remember that Jeffery took a year to get to where he is now, and Benjamin is no sure thing. I think he's a project either way, but if he can't separate, then he's a really big project.
He's got tremendous potential, there's no denying that, but he's a risky pick IMO.
Plus, if he runs well at the combine, there's no way he makes it to 27.

That's because Jeffery was grossly overweight & out of shape his final season at South Carolina. That was one of the reasons his draft stock dropped & he ended up being a second rounder. He carried that with him to Chicago but finally he got it turned around. This is not the case with Benjamin. Benjamin doesn't look like this.

This offense needs a Cordarrelle Patterson. Sammy Watkins is the closest thing to that, but we know he's gone in top 10. I think Landry is our best bet since we have a speedster in Stills already.
Don't think Benjamin lives up to the hype just like Meachem didn't.

So why would we take Landry if you think we need the elite athlete types? I like Landry as a wr but not for the number 1 type role

Landry reminds me of Hines Ward, physical guy who go out and make plays and crazy catches.

Landry is way more talented than Ward. I think he has the potential to be like Anquan Boldin. He already has hands like him, now if he can learn to use his strength even more effectively, he can develop into a very good No. 2 WR.

Yeah I like Landry more than obj. Runs better routes and had better hands. I'm always hesitant on taking the big play guy with the early pick. Feel like you can find the returner /weapon types later at less of an investment.

It's too bad Rashad Green didn't come out from FSU.
He's a better player than Benjamin, plus he fits this scheme to a T.
He operates very well on quick throws to find holes in zone coverage, and beats the tacklers with his speed to turn short catches into long gains. He was a major reason Jameis Winston looked so good this year.
He doesn't have Benjamin's size or Sammy Watkins/Marqise Lee's speed, but he's still got a little of both with a much more polished technique. Would have loved him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

and St Aug
Desean Jackson
Antonio Brown
Garcon
Hilton
all big play guys who would have been 1st rounders if they played at bigger school except Jackson.

I wasn't talking about trading out of the draft.I would like for us to keep rolling over an extra pick like NE does, that way we'll have an extra pick to pick Drew's replacement, that way if we miss it didn't ruin the whole draft.

It's far harder to trade back than most of us think. Plus, I think 6 picks in this draft is solid. I really doubt that all 6 of those guys even make the team, so why not just pick the BPA at each spot?

You have to have a willing partner, and there needs to be someone they covet. Odds at pick 27, not too high. Until I turn my full attention towards the draft, I won't have any idea who I'd like.

Some of yal's Alshon comparisons are way off in regards to Benjamin. Benjamin is extremely athletic, will run very well, and is much taller than Alshon. He doesn't have the best hands, though.
Alshon is a bull with glue on his hands.

This is spot-on. Green would be AWESOME for the Saints.
