Windows 8.1 .net framework 3.5

Not so subtle brag thread:
8.1 come with .net 4.0 (or 4.1, not sure), the software we use needs 3.5 for the installation. You would think that 4.0 would be backwards compatible but the software doesn't see it like that. When I try to install 3.5 it won't download the necessary files to finish the install and errors out.
Any solutions/suggestions? Tech support for software said wait for the next update from them in like June but there's got to be a workaround yeah?

Why would anyone brag about owning a Windows product?

Are you having problems during your unboxing?
Yep, you bought a Windows product.

I do. Under the rock where I live, Microsoft wrote off a billion dollar loss on the Surface but the big "2" on the box means something different this time?

It's one of the best products on the market.
So yeah.
So yeah.

Microsoft is on the RIM path.

Surface 1 took the Xbox path. Didn't make money but got them in the market to make money later.
Surface Pro 2 is legit. Not Lenovo Yoga legit, but legit

Did you go to Control Panel-->Programs and Features-->Turn Windows Features On and Off and see if you can install it through there?

I had the exact same problem on two today!
The Windows Update service was disabled. Fired right off once enabled and started.

Why is that hilarious?
Microsoft was caught flat footed on mobile and tablets which are the future, and they were steamrolled by Apple and Google.
They have no presence in the present, much less in 5 years.
They now own the low margin business desktop and cheap laptop market.

Windows still has a 90% market share in the workplace. They are a self-proclaimed software maker. That's their bread and butter. The hardware was always second tier to them.
Don't get me wrong, I have 4 iPads, 3 appletvs, an iMac, every generation of iPhone, Apple airport base station, and 3 airport expresses in my home but at my business it's all windows.

Sometimes you have to uninstall later versions to reinstall starting with the version you need.

You might be the most delusional poster I've seen on here. MS owns the desktop and Office application markets. Their server products are rock solid, and the Surface 2 is legit.

Who is delusional?
Nothing you said counters what I said.
Microsoft has a dying market cornered that dies more every day.
Google and Apple got there and Microsoft didn't.
Surface 2 is going to be a failure regardless of your delusions. Nothing has changed since the first Surface.

That is not going to die unless Google and Apple start selling servers.
