I am interested in how they market the card to new customers after 3/22. I can't see them sticking with the same $450 fee without adding more perks.

I think they will make it right tho, right now it seems like the Centurion Lounge is how they plan on doing that. Only problem is they will only have 4 total clubs after this year. If they had one in Atlanta, my home airport, I would signup without hesitation tho.

Won't really affect New Orleans flyers. Look at these awesome Sky Club hours for the only lounge in NOLA:

Pretty much if you have a layover, you're sitting outside with the commons.

I used the Admirals Club access benefit all the time, so this is definitely detracting from the Platinum's value for me. That said, it still proabably pays for itself due to the credits and upgrades I get at their Fine Hotels & Resorts properties, along with the upgraded status with Starwood and various rental car agencies.

I just supplemented it by adding a Citi AAdvantage Executive/World Elite card. It also has a $450 charge, but you get full Admirals Club membership (not just access like the AMEX), free checked bags, elite qualifying miles (the only way without flying them), and Priority Access check-in and boarding.
