logos like the fee version is almost the same save for a few minor tweaks
The fee version has the EMV chip and is a little darker
Only the World Elite has the silver logo but I'm not that fancy
I'm probably gonna request it because I want more diversity in my wallet

I've heard AMEX Platinum will send you an EMV chip'd card if you ask for it. Has anyone done this?

Just fyi, I called Platinum services and they were very happy to change it for me. I ALSO asked if that was available on my Gold cards and she was very helpful in doing so.
So, if you want the EMV chip on your AMEX Platinum or Gold, they'll do it for you very simply and will overnight UPS to you. I had a total of 5 cards done just now and took less than 5 mins. 800-525-3355 (number on back of your card) is what I called for this.
eta-She said that when you switch to EMV chipped cards you can't call back later and switch back. I'm not sure why I'd want to, but you can't. Also, there was zero fee for any of this.

My Gold Rewards came without the chip. Not sure if it's a card I'll use overseas so no biggie.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred, Citi Executive and Citi Platinum World Mastercards all came chipped.
As an aside I love the look of the Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

Me too, very nice. Mine is much darker than yours though. Weird. Also, the chip isn't showing...or is is blacked out for some reason?

I just downgraded my CSP.
I'll have to purchase some type of seld-defense gear now that I don't have that metal ninja star on me any more.

That isn't my card. It's just an image from the Internet. Mine is much darker as well and has the chip.

Did you downgrade because you have Ink cards? The CSP is worth its weight in gold to me because it allows me to transfer UR points between cards and out to airline partners.

C'mon meow.
Ya, I have a Chase Ink Plus and my fiancee still has her CSP, which I'll also downgrade when the time comes.
I'd have to eat at restaurants to the tune of $9,000 a year or so to justify the annual fee. And since I don't pay for airline tickets much anyways the travel category doesn't do much good for me since Ink Plus has 2x hotels.

CSP used to be lighter. Don't know why they darkened them up.

does anyone have a good use for citi thank you points?
i have their forward card which gives me 5/1 at restaurants
there aren't many redemption options i've found that are 1:1
the only one I've done so far is an extra mortgage payment, which is 1:1

Gotcha. I eat out everyday for lunch and use it for business and personal meals. When I get an Ink card that has the same transfer privileges I may downgrade. I can also dump a lot of business spend on my cards (as you know) so that may make a difference.
I use the AMEX for plane tickets because it is 3X points and also has great partners for me to transfer points.

Does transferring to airline partners really make that much of a difference on the UR points? What is the big advantage there?

I can turn 60k UR points in to a $2,500 airline ticket or 110k UR points in to a $5k airline ticket.
I could only cash those in for $600 and $1,100 respectively.

Considering that the no fee Sapphire still has 2x on dining, the CSP is almost entirely duplicitous if you have an Ink/Bold. Frankly, I don't see why Chase doesn't throw in a CSP if you are paying the yearly fee on another one of their cards, just to throw us a bone by letting us keep the metal card.
The CSP is a great card if it's your "best" Chase card. As soon as you pick up another premium card, it should be the first one gone.

Not so sure...I'm racking my brain trying to come up with a reason to keep the Platinum when it comes time to renew.

It can be a huge advantage. CSP only gives you a 20% discount when purchasing tickets. So a $625 ticket only costs you $500 in points.
However, if you can transfer your miles into British Airways Avios you can get a huge bang for the buck because BA bases their points use schedule on the distance of the flight. On direct flights of 650 miles or less it only costs 4500 Avios each way for the flight. That's basically a $90 round trip ticket. Flying to Miami from Dulles for me direct is 15000 Avios round trip opposed to 25000 MilesAAver miles on American Airlines. So, $150 worth of miles opposed to $250 worth of miles for the same flight.
You have to be flexible in travel dates to take advantage of this but that isn't a problem for me.

To me it seems prudent to base your primary miles around whatever airline hub is closest to you. With 3 major airports within a short drive we in the Washington, DC metropolitan area have some advantages that others may not have.

Agree. You have to have it for obvious reasons.

As soon as you don't need CSP, I agree as well.
10 more days and I can think about getting back in the game again

Have you been reading about the people getting blackballed from Citi and Chase lately? Interesting stuff there.
