I can imagine Kip's frustration.
He has done a good job of running an open government with tight internal fiscal controls. He has focused most of the infrastructure investments in the unincorporated areas of BR - including tax breaks to spur development in those areas. Now they play the victim card in an effort to take the money and run.
I'm sure he realizes that he is largely distrusted due to his race, as being a black democrat associates him with the race-baiting idiots that represent north Baton Rouge.

This has been about public schools from the beginning. Holden should remember that despite the heated rhetoric and take this opportunity to be a cooler head in this debate....several members of the council aren't helping things.
The race card? Is that all you have?

So is talking this way about them going to strengthen the resolve of the SG proponents or cause them to capitulate? This can't be a war of attrition as his enemy will have to be his ally (as well as his continued cash cow) in the end.

Do the challenges a BR mayor-president faces render their gripes illegitimate?

Kip's race didn't stop me from voting for him. Twice.
His tantrum over the whole Audubon Alive boondoggle (among other things) is what kept me from voting for him a third time.
