Underrated - sometimes overshadowed by M*A*S*H - but one of the best "comedy" war films of all time (and is Mrs. Midnight's favorite war movie).
I find it to be very quotable and memorable. The anti-patriotic theme resounded for the time. Savalas gave one of his best performances and you can run down about 15 or so minor roles with fairly well-known (or would become) actors definitely NOT phoning it in.
Don't know if it is GOAT material - but all in all, my favorite "less than serious" war movie.

I can watch it every week and not get tired of it..
All-Star cast.. Eastwood, Savalas, Sutherland, Rickels, Carroll O'Connor..
