Apocalypto is a good movie, it is based on a better movie The Naked Prey.
The tell is based on the true account of trapper named John Colter being pursued by Blackfoot Indians in Wyoming.
When they filmed The Naked Prey they did not have the money to film it in the US, so moved the tell to Africa.
Conrel Wilde does a very good job in the lead role "man", with father and son Gumpu playing well as the tribal Chief and Warrior leader son.
Gert van den Bergh played man 2, was in the movie Zulu.
