Any ideas on what you think the future of recruiting in Texas looks like?
For LSU - not nearly as good. I think Texas and Charlie Strong plus Kevin Sumlin and A&M will all but close the door on Texas. Sure hope I'm wrong and have to eat these words.

Everyone on here keeps talking about how Strong will make it tough for us in Texas. That's going to hurt, but for the next year or two, Strong is going to be killing it in South Florida, where he almost solely stocked his Louisville teams. He has major presence in that area.
I think as time goes on, he will be pressed by the Texas Boosters to make sure he takes more Texas players, as UT Boosters have no taste for aTm and Baylor (and LSU) getting the top Texas players. That bodes badly for LSU, as Strong will be hitting two areas who do well for LSU OOS players.
This is why I keep saying LSU has to begin to recruit NATIONALLY in a big way while the Brand is hot. OOS is not just East Texas, Georgia, and South Florida. Lots of talent there but other schools going there as well. We need to get into the Virginia/Maryland area, up north where kids want to get out of the cold, and the West Coast. That will cost money, but if we just focus on one area (LA Basin or San Diego) it could be doable. Or we could just give that area up to Bama, Auburn, UT, etc.
The math is simple...Texas will be tougher, Florida will be tougher, if we do as well in LA in future years, it won't be enough. The teams that will go after everyone will be the ones in playoffs. Scrambling to fill holes in January ain't gonna work much longer.
This is not a nega-Tiger thing, ALL big time programs are facing this reality....
