i think it will hurt are recruiting with the top tier talent in the state once he has it turned around, which shouldnt take too long...but there is so much talent there....Texas went after the wrong kids in recent years...they went after the pre-madonna type gaudy numbers guys...Strong is a diciplined coach dont think he will recruit that...he's gonna go after tough east tx kids...if anything he will hurt A&M's and Baylor's recruiting more than ours...We need to rebuild the fence around our state is what needs to happen...and continue to dip into Georgia, Florida and Texas when needed..

FYI: Unless you're talking about something that happened more than 30 years ago, it's prima donna, not pre-Madonna.
I would agree that Strong won't have much impact on LSU's Texas recruiting. As others have pointed out, Texas is a huge state and the Horns can only take so many. The Horns are hoping that there will be two differences from Mack: (1) he won't have as many busts due to taking premature commitments (something which allowed Mack to get an edge over A&M when he started doing that in the late '90s, but which burned him late in his tenure more often than not); and (2) that Strong might cherry pick some recruits from Florida to fill areas of need (particularly on defense, where Texas high school talent sometimes comes up short due to 7-on-7 and the emphasis now placed on offense, a 180 degree change from what it was in pre-Madonna times where the triple option ruled the day).
