DVR Hoarding

I love my Jersey girl wife. But she drives me crazy hoarding stuff on the DVR like our DVR is some personal hard drive. I understand the occasional kid movies to keep around for the kids until we buy the DVDs but she doesn't get the point of the DVR, deleting what we watched, and why we sometimes get near the capacity limit.
Anyone know someone else who does this?

I just have my DVR to delete the old shite when it reaches max capacity.
If there is something I don't want deleted, I select the "never delete" feature.
DVR issues don't come about.

What the hell difference does it make?

My mother.
She also likes to record several series at once (usually forgetting she does so) so you can't change the channel when they're recording at the limit...(we have a fairly basic Cox DVR)

If possible, my wife would store 10,000 hours worth of Lifetime Movie Network movies on the DVR. and would mark them as "do not erase".

Saints Super Bowl win.
That way when I tell my grandkids about it and they laugh I'll just turn on the old DVR.

I dvr to my hard drive and if I ever need more space I'll just add another drive. My doesn't watch tv anymore so it's just me and the kids but they'll watch the same thing on netflix all day.
