John Fourcade and Tommy Wilcox turning down LSU for Ole Miss and Bama helped get Charlie McClendon fired. Fourcade was a 1st team all-SEC QB and Wilcox was an all-American safety.

Spot on with both. As I recall Foucade was a Shaw grad and Wilcox Holy Cross and they were huge losses. What about a quarterback from Bogalusa High (I think) named Terry Davis who also started for Bear for a number of years at BAMA. Also have to agree that Travis Minor and Warwick Dunn losses to FSU were huge.
