It was uncommonly high... but it's probably going to become a trend given the restructuring of the rookie wage scale. Bama loses plenty of players every season as well and they are in the hunt every year.
There's has been plenty of articles posted on this site showing the difference in money between rounds isn't that much. This kids want to get to the pros as soon as they can to capitalize on their second contracts.
Reload and compete. It's the nature of the game when you're a program like LSU.

For one thing, only Simon, Reid, Wing, and Ware were 3 year players.
While its a lot, I don't think you can really question Reid or Ware leaving.
There were rumors that Wing wasn't even welcome on the team this year regardless.
After that it was a bunch of 4 year guys who RSd and had degrees already anyway.
