Learn to read. I said UNDER Moffat meaning when he took over as the head of the show. Most of the good episodes listed were while Davies ran the show.

Learn to read. Most of the episodes listed were under moffat. And notice that I said that the best 11 episodes were written by others, under moffat.

Not really. Blink, Empty Child, Doctor Dances, Girl in the Fireplace were under Davies. Most of the rest I wouldn't list in the top 50 episodes except for the 50th special. And that had some problems given that it had no continuity with the PREVIOUS episode.

Not really.

Can you count?

Besides, there are great episodes under moffat written by others:

Vincent and the doctor
The lodger
The girl who waited
The doctor's wife
The god complex
The rings of ahkaten

Plus other solid ones. Personally I like the river song arc, though I understand why some don't. As for continuity, it always has been, and always will be a problem for doctor who, a show based entirely on time travel. It isn't a big enough problem to turn me off.

While they are both "annoying", I really enjoyed the way they worked in the stories

That has nothing to do with the season finale being completely forgotten in the 50th anniversary.

1 second they leap in to the doctors time stream and come face to face with Hurt then the VERY NEXT episode it is forgotten.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the 50th but that was an ODD disregard for continuity. So was having Baker brought in at the very end. I get with his age there wasn't a real way to bring him in so I gave him a pass on that aspect but completely disregarding the previous episode was odd.

Clearly they were going in one direction and maybe they decided it wasn't big enough for the big 50th so they completely changed it. Still slightly off putting and I did say slightly.

How was this disregarding continuity? My understanding was this was a far in the future regeneration where he became tom baker again, "visiting some old favorites."

I don't see a problem here.

Well Mycroft is going to be the show runner soon. So moffat may go back to penning An episode here and there.

Originally Christopher Eccleston was going to play the part that went to John Hurt for the 50th. They were going to change some things around, but CE was going to be the main character.

That would've been very nice and it would've given that Doctor a greater place in Who lore. Since he only got one season. But CE wouldn't do it

Based on current time lord constraints, the doctor only has 12 regenerations. There wouldn't be a future Baker.

This point will change. Rassilon and the time lords limited the number so in the future I am sure they will deal with this issue. Of course they could just choose to ignore it, but I hope they don't.

You don't see a problem with them completley disregarding the actions in the season finale? The 50th paid no attention to the time stream jump or the meeting with Hurt. You may see no problem but regardless it was a huge continuity misstep with the PREVIOUS episode.

I really wonder what went down with Eccleston. I wonder if his agent told him to threaten to leave the show hoping for more cash and then when he said he was leaving they said OK see ya.

yeah agreed, Fall was good, very short though. Between that Luther and Sherlock, BBC sure is a fan of 3-5 episode seasons.

According to the interviews I've read with Moffat on the subject, he said Eccleston came in and sat down with the team and discussed the 50th. But he turned it down.

I've read stories. Apparently CE isn't too fond of RTD nor BBC.

Still, can't believe he turned down the leading role in the 50th. Would have gotten his name out there again.

I think you missed the last one. They specifically dealt with that. he's already started a new series of regenerations.

Didn't miss anything. 12 regenerations thus 13 doctors. Hurt and Capaldi make 12 regenerations.

It will also be interesting to see continuity wise if they make Capaldi a bit of a dick and somewhat evil since the 13th doctor was evil in the original series.

Would love him to channel his character from In The Loop.

They did mention it. First time they come into contact with the painting.

Wrong. The Timelords gave him a new set of regenerations. 10's hand counts as a regeneration.

Yes.

They have said this. The entire crisis of the last episode was based on this. It's hard to miss. That's why they didn't think 11 could regenerate. Clara asked the time lords for help and they did by granting a new set of regenerations.
