The fall is an ITV show as well I think, and I am guessing the second season, which is filming right now, would also only be available on netflix stateside. I am very bitter that Ripper Street second season isn't available on netflix yet. Also, The Hour was a FANTASTIC show that only lasted two seasons and F'n ended on a huge cliffhanger. I am still very bitter about this one.

Also In The Flesh has been decent, but not sure I will really get into it or not.

Just started Midsomer Murders.

More than a little overacting by the guests each week.

The main cast is good. Like the sarcastic banter from DCI Barnaby.

I love me some Who.

I do agree that a lot of the RTD era had some meh. I started with Matt Smith's first episode and I fell in love.

Despite what some say on this board, I think Steven Moffats episodes (especially season 5 and the ENTIRE River Song arc) is perfect.

David Tennant is my favorite Doctor, but Matt Smith's stories are better. To me, anyway.

Eta: so keep watching, because Matt is coming in Season 5

No. You can't argue that almost every episode ends with the sonic screwdriver being used in nonsensical ways. Since the new inception of Who it has been used as a weapon all the way to ROCKET BOOSTERS on a vehicle with NO ROCKET BOOSTERS.

The show has not been very good under Moffat and Smith is about the worst doctor since Colin Baker.

For some reason, the new show has mostly abandoned the small story and almost every arc / plot deals with the total destruction of all life.

The best episodes are the simple ones like Blink.

I'll still watch and I don't actually hate the show, but I do think the writers are a lazy bunch who don't care if anything they write makes any sense whatsoever.

Oh and don't get me started on the fact the Daleks have been destroyed throughout all of time and space about 3 times since the new show and yet they have appeared in about 47 episodes.

Overuse of the same Villains is another big problem with the show, but I am sure that is caused by budgetary constraints.

Well, that's because they are, without a doubt, the best of all of the Who villains, and they HAVE to appear in each season, or for some reason, they'll lose the rights to them. Or something like that. I think.

The Doctor has gotten much wiser in his old age. 10 was a wee babe.

11 knows settings on the Sonic because of extra years of trial and error.

It's not that hard. Try to keep up.

And don't ever post ill of 11 again.

This is not a BBC program but was on British television and the entire series is on youtube.

Agreed.

10 was my first doctor, and probably the best actor to play the doctor, and possibly the most fun to watch much of the time. But I can't stand Rose or their relationship at all. Still he has many of the greatest Who episodes. Blink is probably the best of all episodes, and one of the best hours I've seen on television. 10 ends on a low note, and I'll never forgive him for what he did to Donna through his characteristic self centered vanity.

That said, 11 is my Doctor. He has many great episodes. His introduction is truly phenomenal. I love his relationship with the Ponds. He becomes wise despite his appearance, has great depth of character. And he definitely goes out on a high note, with respect intact.

I wish 9 had gotten more than one season, I think he could have been great with 2 or 3 seasons.

I watched the first Matt Smith episode last night.

Loved Tennant as the doctor, but I'd echo what someone else posted and say I got annoyed with Rose. Donna too.

I can't disagree with you more. I put Matt Smith up there with Tom Baker in terms of best Doctor ever. Matter of fact, I think since the show came back in 2005, I think the Doctors have gotten better and better...which makes me fairly excited for Capaldi.

Some of the best episodes, and easily the best episodes of doctors 9-10 were written by him:
The empty child/the doctor dances
The girl in the fireplace
Blink
Silence in the library
The eleventh hour
The time of angels
Asylum of the daleks
The angels take manhattan
The day of the doctor
The time of the doctor

My beef with Smith could possibly be tainted by the horrific over the top crutch of the screwdriver but I doubt it.

Acting wise he couldn't hold Baker's jock.

Not really. A few knuckleheads proclaiming a dandy ponce of a doctor as the best doesn't mean jack.

Learn to read. I said UNDER Moffat meaning when he took over as the head of the show. Most of the good episodes listed were while Davies ran the show.

I said he should stop helming the show and just write.
