He's announcing at the game tomorrow. Which basically means he decommitted so he could announce to Bama on national TV.
If he re-commits to Bama, I think we'll know. And would explain why LSU has seemingly been standoffish. They smelled a rat; it's been going around for a while ESPN is driving some of this. I'm sure the coaches have gotten wind.
And before anyone asks, if you're a Jimmy or Shea... you're probably not going to investigate or report that rumor because ESPN will just take away your access. They hold all the cards- media access and players "moments".
ETA: sorry JJ, too many things don't add up. I've drifted from the "Hootie made a mistake" side. The tweet today was the final straw.

It was a ploy the WHOLE TIME to try and upstage LSU at the AA games.

Got a text that he knows where he's going. Didn't tell the guy where he was going, but if he's settled, I'd say Bama. Bama stayed on him and LSU didn't do anything after the decommit so I don't see how it would be LSU.

I have no doubt in my mind there will be a tweet or a report to the media that he "wants to go to LSU", then re-commits to Bama on TV tomorrow.

Just curious JJ, I've heard many say LSU didn't do anything after his decommit. I know you're from the Monroe area, do you know this from knowing the kid or is this just what you have heard?

You people are moronic. Hootie hasn't been playing double agent...or holding out for ESPN. Dude has a huge contingent of friends, co-workers and mentors who are die-hard LSU fans. He legitimately had second thoughts. Don't have a clue what LSU did or didn't do, but if he goes elsewhere, I suspect it will be the result of completely botched recruiting...or the result of message board/twitter idiots who disparaged him and his pride. As I've said before, he's a good kid. And he's going to be a beast in college. So, if he goes to Ole Miss, this will be a self-inflicted problem for LSU. I hope to hell he rises above and joins our class.
