That is simply not true. Or the rule is being wrongfully enforced now, and very often.

In the Lsu game today, a couple plays after the officials' clusterfrick with iowa supposedly not allowing Lsu time to substitute, Lsu was called for illegal substitution on defense when players ran off the field before the snap.

He's wrong...again. Illegal substitution is a dead ball foul.

Those officials were consistent, they sucked for both teams.
