Sorry... would have to put Reid and Martin ahead of Davis.
Reid could do it all and was tough as nails. Caught 19 for about 300 against Bama one year. Had a good QB in Rohan most of the time.
Martin was like elastic man. The guy was not very fast at all but was extremely flexible and athletic. He would snatch balls more than catch them. Saw him make a diving one handed catch over the middle against Nebraska in Orange Bowl that was one of the best catches I ever saw. He literally came out of his shoe as he dove for the ball. No DVR in those days and I dont even think they replayed it during game. Had Risher slingin him passes.
Davis was blue collar all the way. Alot like Andre Reed or Marvin Harrison. He did not dazzle you with spectacular catches but got the job done. Tommy Hodson was on his game a couple of seasons there and was throwing great and Davis was the beneficiary of Hodsons unbelievable accuracy.
You cannot leave Carlos Carson out of this conversation. He was amazing during a time when LSU was not a pass happy team. Proved it by playing forever in the pros. Was there when he snagged 5 TDs in game against Rice.
Landry deserves to be included in discussion to.
But I would have to say my final answer for "Best Hands" is Eric Martin.
