Was Hyde arrested?
Do you have evidence John Football took money?
Yes I'm aware of the picture of him signing autographs. You can find pictures of hundreds of college players signing autographs however.
What deserves a harsher punishment in your opinion?
Allegedly signing autographs for a couple thousand dollars or being arrested and suspected of assaulting a woman?

Rumors are that Manziel's dad effectively blackmailed the NCAA...saying that he would put the full court press on them for benefiting from his son's stardom thru memorabilia and other items. Apparently daddy has some deep pockets and power.

And "rumors" are that Hyde threw a haymaker at the broad in the club. Neither have ever been proven.

Taking thousands of dollars for autographs is a blatant NCAA violation which should result in an extended suspension. Being a suspect in a case is not an NCAA violation. However, if convicted you obviously must pay legal consequences and lose your scholarship.

Anyway back on topic.

True. And for that Hyde paid the consequences (3 game suspension) even though no charges were filed.

Never charged, still suspended for a quarter of the season.

Bradley Roby: arrested after a bar fight.
Suspended for 1 or 2 games I forget

Ok

Kicked off of the team due to this. Actually never step foot on campus, he was an incoming freshmen.

Jake Stoneburner, Jack Mewhort: arrested for urinating in public
Think they were both suspended.

Storm Klein: domestic battery and assault
Never charged, missed half a season due to this.

He was never charged and cleared of any involvement.

You want to talk about being misinformed and then talk like les Miles actually let the players decide whether to let him back or not? Miles already made that decision to let him come back, it was just a gesture to bring it to the team and let them decide if they would accept him back. This happens all the time.
Do you LSU fans have a link to back this up? First Miles made the decision for him to come back, then the team voted as a gesture to bring to the team. TIA.
How did the thread go from MSU to OSU so fast....

Common sense? He doesn't bring Hill in for a team vote if he wasn't fully on board with bringing him back. Pretty simple concept.

Turn the tides...if the exact same situation happened at tOSU (mimicking Hill's), what would you think?

The video I saw and the subsequent suspension were proof enough for me?

I would think that Meyer was the one who made the call to reinstate him. I really don't get how you guys think the head coach just 100% left the decision up to the team instead of having his opinion formed beforehand, and then letting the team reinforce his opinion.
Keep in mind I haven't said one word about Meyer and they way he runs his program.

I would think it's the AD's call on the minimum punishment and the HC can stiffen it at his discretion. If Meyer did the same as Miles in this situation, the rant would explode. In Meyer's short stint at tOSU he has been pretty forceful IMO.

So it's the leadership at LSU that sucks?
Posted on 12/26/13 at 11:42 am to tress4pres
Well I don't think you'll find too many fans of Alleva on this site

It's not that some think the coach left the decision up to the team, it's that the LSU fans are trying to perpetrate a lie when in reality to anyone with a keen eye would see what is going on. Les is a grown arse man, why the frick does he need to have his team reaffirm anything? Stand by your convection and decision as a coach to make your own choice absolved from a team vote. I don't know what Les reason was behind what he did but if you believe what he did is true, then I question his leadership abilities to lead troubled players and punish them justly. If any coach did that, I would have the same regards to that situation.
If you have kids think about it like this. If your middle child of three gets caught stealing in a department store and you punish the child by taking the difference from their allowance, would you ask your other kids before you punish their sibiling? If so, what does that say about you as a parent.
Les is smart enough to know how this would appear to the public save those LSU fans that will spin it another way.
