Not good at praying, but I mashed my teary eyes together thinking about my old man and hoped like hell you'd feel better. I'm staring down 40, in the next couple if months, and I know news like this is in my nearer than I'd like future. It already hurts and he's doing well. When you're alone you don't have to be strong, know that.

And that's all you have to do, friend. Humbling yourself before God (ie, your tears), is in my opinion (based on scriptural readings), about as quick a way to get a prayer heard as any.
Hopefully, the OP will feel the strength requested through your prayer.
