By pre-spawn I assume that you're talking about when the fish are schooled up in deeper water?

Pre-spawn: Slow moving jigs fished off of points 20-30' of water. Rip baits over grassy areas in 10-15' of water. Drop shotting worms on grassy banks looking for early entrants of the spawn game.

Spawn: Wacky rigged worms near beds. Frogs over beds.

Out here on the west coast we are definitely at least two months from spawn and I was able to find a few of these beauties right at the edge of the grass banks in about 10-15' of water.

Hell of a fish Don

I will start fishing late January, being the reason I included the Pre-spawn. Gearing up for a Heroes on the Water kayak fishing event in early February in Bossier.

Ross, definately need to check it out beforehand. Thats a pretty big body of water, X10 in a kayak.
