Happened to me, you need to put it in DFU mode. Have the cord connected to your computer and the simultaneously plug in your phone and hold the home button for approximately 10 minutes. It will put it in reset mode and should do the trick

You are supposed to plug it in and press and hold the power and home button. After 10 seconds, let off the power button but continue to hold the home button. The screen should stay blank and then a message will pop up from iTunes saying it has detected a device in recovery mode.
